NIACL conducts this exam to recruit Administrative Officers in its various branches across the nation. NIACL AO Eligibility Criteria

Overall, there are 2 criteria on which the eligibility of a candidate is judged for NIACL AO 2017 - education and age. You need to qualify following eligibility standards to apply for this exam.

1. NIACL Age Limit for AO Exam (as on 1st October 2017)

Minimum Age - 21 yearsMaximum Age - 30 years

You need to fall under this upper & lower age limit to apply for NIACL AO.

2. NIACL Age Relaxation for AO Exam

The Age Relaxation for New India Assurance Recruitment 2017 AO Exam will be applicable as per Govt. norms. The NIACL AO 2017 Age Relaxation for different categories are as follows:

  • SC/ST - 5 years

  • OBC (Non - Creamy Layer) - 3 years

  • PWD - 10 years

  • Ex-Servicemen - 5 years

  • Defence service personnel disabled in operation during the hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as consequence thereof - 3 years

  • Persons ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31.12.1989 - 5 years

  • Existing Confirmed Employees of Public Sector General Insurance Companies (including GIC & Agriculture Insurance Company of India Ltd.) - 8 years

3. NIACL AO  Educational Qualification (as on 1st October 2017)

  • You must possess the minimum qualification of a graduate/post graduate in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination for General candidates and at least 55% marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

  • You should also possess a certificate in proof of passing the qualifying examination as on 01.10.2017.

NIACL AO Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure

If the NIACL AO recruitment is announced in 2018, it would most probably be on the same exam pattern as 2016. Therefore, you can expect New India Assurance Recruitment 2018 to have a selection process split into 3 stages, which are:

  1. Prelims Exam

  2. Mains Exam

  3. Personal Interview

(1.) NIACL Exam Pattern: Prelims Exam

The Preliminary Examination will be of Objective Type. It will hold 100 marks and will take place online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 sections as follows:

  • Apart from the test of English Language, you have the option to attempt the exam in either Hindi or English.

  • You have to secure passing marks section-wise.

  • Based on these marks, you will be shortlisted for the mains exam.

  • For each wrong answer, you will lose one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question.

  • However, if you leave a question blank, there will be no penalty for that question.

(2.) NIACL Exam Pattern: Mains Exam

Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both these tests are online and you will have to answer the Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Make sure you practice well on a computer while preparing for this exam because Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of Objective Test. Here are the patterns for both the exams:

The duration of Objective Test is 2 hours and consists of 4 sections for 200 marks.

2. Descriptive Test:

The duration of the Descriptive Test is 30 minutes and it holds 30 marks. It will be an Online Test of English Language – Letter & Essay writing. The pattern would be:

  • Descriptive Test is qualifying in nature. Your marks in the descriptive test will not be counted towards short listing for interview or final selection.

  • Your descriptive test will be evaluated only if you cross a certain sectional & overall cut-off (to be decided by NIACL later).

  • Obtaining a minimum score (cut-off) overall and for each section of objective test separately, will ensure your selection for the Interview round.

  • The company will decide the section-wise as well as the total cut-off for qualifying for Descriptive test evaluation/Interview.

  • For each wrong answer you will lose one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question.

  • However, if you leave a question blank, there will be no penalty for that question.

(3.) NIACL Exam Pattern: Interview

The weightage i.e., ratio of online Examination and Interview in the final merit list will be 80:20 respectively.

Final Selection Process

Your final selection would be based on consolidated marks of NIACL AO Mains exam (objective test) & NIACL AO Interview. The final merit list shall be prepared in descending order of the consolidated marks secured by the candidates. If you fall within the number of vacancies in the merit list, the company will consider you for the appointment.

How to Apply for NIACL Recruitment AO Exam?

You can apply for NIACL AO Exam through Online mode only. To apply for New India Assurance AO Exam, follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. You can register through NIACL official website.

  2. You have to pay the Application fee online using Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking/Cash Cards/Wallets, etc.

  3. Use a valid email ID that should be kept active until the declaration of results.

  4. You should keep a scanned photograph and signature ready as per requirements mentioned in the official notification.

  5. Submit the Application Form.

  6. Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference.
