IBPS holds multiple bank recruitment exams throughout the year to fill various posts. The IBPS SO, IBPS RRB (Officer Sc. I, II and III along with IBPS RRB Office Assistant), IBPS PO, etc. are some of the most significant exams.

IBPS conducts a common IBPS SO Exam across the country to fill SO vacancies in various banks that participate in this exam. Once you qualify, you are hired as a Specialist Officer in one of the participating banks as per your preference, merit and IBPS SO cut off. Different branches for the exam is being held are IT, HR, Agricultural Field, Rajbhasha, Marketing and Law.

If you are wondering about IBPS SO salary, then you should know that after you are selected as an IBPS SO, you will be getting a decent salary in the initial period of your service. The basic pay will be Rs. 30,000 – 38, 000/-. On top of it, Dearness Allowances are also released by the banks on quarterly term based on Consumer Price Index.

In the IBPS SO 2017 Exam, 20 banks are participating. These are, Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India and Vijaya Bank. On being selected, you will be posted to any one of these banks on the basis of your preference and merit.

IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2018

Overall, there are 2 criteria on which your eligibility is judged for IBPS SO exam. You need to qualify these eligibility standards to apply for this exam. These 3 criteria are broadly classified into the following categories:

    • A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council.

  • HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I)

    • Graduate and Two Years Full-time Post Graduate degree or Two Years Full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/HR/HRD/Social Work/Labour Law.

  • Marketing Officer (Scale I)

IBPS SO Exam Pattern & Selection Process 2017

The IBPS SO selection takes place in 3 stages - Prelims, Mains & Interview. The Preliminary exam is just a qualifying exam and the marks that you score in the Prelims are not counted towards final merit list preparation. Once you clear the Prelims stage, you qualify for the Mains exam. Thereafter, the selected candidates will be called the Interview. Application for IBPS SO recruitment takes place online. You can register through IBPS official website.

  1. Once you go to the IBPS official website, click on ‘New Registration’.

  2. You should provide your basic information to register.

  3. Now you will receive a provisional registration number and a system generated password. Note these down for future reference.

  4. Fill up the application form carefully & click on “Save and Next” after verifying details in each section.
