Canara Bank PO Eligibility Criteria

Overall, there are 2 criteria on which the eligibility of a candidate is judged for Canara Bank PO 2018 exam - Education and Age. You need to qualify the following eligibility standards to apply for this Canara Bank PO exam.

1. Age Limit (as on 1st January 2018)

  • Minimum Age: 20 years

  • Maximum Age: 30 Years

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST – 5 years

  • OBC (Non-creamy layer) – 3 years

  • PWD – 10 years

  • Ex-servicemen – 5 years

2. Educational Qualification

  • You should have a Degree in any discipline (with a minimum of 60% marks for General/OBC & 55% for SC/ST/PWBD) from the Central Government recognized university.

  • You must also have operating & working knowledge in computer systems which you should either possess or acquire within 6 months from the date of joining the Bank.  

  • You should also have knowledge of Hindi before applying or completion of the course.

Canara Bank PO Exam Pattern & Selection Procedure

Canara Bank selection process for the PO 2018 exam consists of 3 stages, which are:

  1. Online Objective Test

  2. Group Discussion

  3. Interview

Online Objective Test

  • This test will be conducted by IBPS, Mumbai.

  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

  • There will be minimum cut-off marks for each subject as well as Total Score. You need to obtain a minimum score in each subject and also a minimum total score as decided by the exam conducting body to be considered for Group Discussion and Interview.

Group Discussion (GD) & Interview

  • Once you qualify the Online Test, you will have to appear for Group Discussion.

  • For each post 3 candidates will be called for Group Discussion & Interview.

  • The GD & Interview will be of 50 marks.

  • The candidates who will qualify the GD & Interview will be selected in the final merit list.
